Autotransformer

Autotransformers offer an efficient and economical solution for connecting electrical equipment to power supplies of differing voltages. By sharing part of the winding between the primary and secondary circuits, these transformers achieve effective voltage conversion.
However, the lack of isolation between circuits may not be suitable for all power systems, especially where isolation is required or if there is no grounded neutral on the secondary side of the upstream transformer.
Typical applications include motor loads in industrial machinery, electric heating, and air conditioning units. Specialty autotransformers are also available for specific needs such as motor-starters, battery-chargers, and zig-zag grounding configurations. Contact us for more information.
